Technology Rules When It Involves Home Security

Technology makes many things in life better, more fun and even safer, when it involves home security there are some interesting advances that technology has done for the ADT specials to make them even more special. Technology has made it more difficult if not impossible for even the smartest burglar to break into a home protected by ADT.

One of the latest advances in the ADT deals is the fact that even the burglar that thinks they can conquer the ADT home security system and get in the house, take what they want and get out before the police arrive to arrest them is wrong. The way that this type of burglar thinks is that if they cut the phone line that goes into the house then the ADT home security system is rendered useless. That would have worked for them in the past, however with the technology that exists today it is useless to cut the phone lines.

The reason for this is because the ADT deal can use a cell phone number to alert the ADT monitoring center that the home has been broken into, there is nothing even the smartest burglar can do to stop the home security system from dialing out on a cell phone. That means while the burglar is thinking they can take their time and take what they want the authorities are on their way. This leaves the burglar sitting in a cell wondering why cutting the phone lines did not stop the ADT deal.

Every year many people decide they want to build a home instead of buying a home that other people have lived in, that means looking over the plans and talking to the builder. One of the things that is an easy addition to the home plans is the wiring for ADT deals, this is a great time to think about home security. It is a new home, a new start for the family and it should be a safe and secure home.

There is not an easier time to install the wiring for an ADT home security system and it is now that the ADT specials will show a new homeowner all the benefits they will have, protection from burglars, from smoke and fire. These are some of the items that worry most homeowners and their families and with the wiring already there it is just a matter of having the rest of the system installed in the home.

This can be a safe home prior to even moving the family in and with the ADT specials like the sign in the yard and the stickers for the windows it will let any burglar traveling though the neighborhood that this new home is not a target for them.

Technology is a great thing it makes advances in many things that make life easier and safer when it comes to home security deals. Some of the best technology advances have been in making it easier to get into the house and to turn the home security system on and off.

There is a key chain attachment that is made by ADT to help when you come in the home with arms filled to turn the home security deal system, this means no false alarms because you did not reach the key pad fast enough. Having an ADT home security deal means that you have the advantage of the latest technology because that is what they focus on, keeping one step a head of burglars to keep homes and families safe.

There is also other technology that is helping keep families safe, the keyless lock, this can be programmed to let people that are not in the family in the home when they need to be and also be taken out of the programming to prevent their entering the house when they are no longer supposed to be in the home. This is perfect for repairmen and babysitters that you do not want to give a key to along with anyone visiting, there is no need to have keys made, just program them in.

5 Steps For Better Home Protection

There are many people that are not sure what they can do to make their home safer for their families and there are a least five things that can be done to make a home secure. The first is to have an ADT deal, this will protect the home and family from home break-ins, smoke and fire, it can also alert when there is a water leak.

The second thing that can be done to protect a home and family from break-ins is to trim away any trees or bushes that are near doors and windows, these give burglars a place to hide. These people do not need an easy entry into your home because bushes shield them.

The third thing that can help a home security deal is to check all the door locks and window locks to ensure they work properly, if they do not then a simple trip to the hardware store will correct that problem. Properly locked doors and windows will keep a burglar out; they want easy access to the home.

The forth thing that can be done that will add to the efficiency of the home security deal you have is to add outdoor lighting, this will keep the home lit and leave no place for a burglar to hide.

The fifth thing is easy, costs nothing and will deter burglars from the road and keep them from stepping foot on your property. Display your ADT deal, put the sign in an area where it can be seen clearly from the road. Place the stickers in the windows so there is no mistaking that you do have the best home security protection. This alone can keep a burglar from ever coming near your home.

What ADT Has Done To Make The Protected Home Easier

The latest piece of technology that ADT now offers their customers is the SafeWatch SafePass. This is a small piece of equipment that can be used while hooked on a key chain and makes entering the home with arms filled with packages, books or anything else much easier because there is no need to key in the password with this gadget.

That is a real ADT deal to have the advantage to not rush to set things down to key in a password or even remember a password with all the other passwords that need to be used daily.

This is an ADT special that homeowners who have people other than family entering the home should take full advantage of because the SafeWatch SafePass can be programmed to work at certain times. This means that the person that comes to clean the house, the babysitter and even a person coming in to do repairs no long needs to have a key and know the password to the ADT home security system.

That makes the ADT home security system even safer for the family that lives in the home because only they need to know the password that is used for their home security system.

ADT Teams Up With AKC

The ADT home security company has teamed up with the American Kennel Club and the National Volunteer Fire Council to help save pets. This is an effort to make the public aware of how pets left at home alone are much safer when there is a home security system installed in the home.

The home security system monitored by ADT sends an alert to the monitoring center when there is smoke or fire in which case the fire department is dispatched to the home. This means the dogs or cats that live in the home have a better chance of being rescued from would otherwise be deadly to them.

This is one of the best ADT benefits to many pet owners that the home security system can provide for them because many pets are not just pets but a part of the family. In fact some of the numbers for pets that are involved in home fires is approximately 500,000 per year according to the statistics that ADT, AKC and the National Volunteer Fire Department have come out with.

Fortunately for homeowners and families that rent apartments there is ADT equipment to fit any home so that not only is the family safe from home break-ins but their pets are safe when they are home alone.

Where Not To Put Your Address

Today there are a lot of drivers who depend on GPS systems and recently this was addressed by ADT in a newsletter. This home security company has concerns about the ability to store a home address into the GPS system.

While it might make more sense to store a home address into this system for convince than to have to manually put it in each time, is putting the home and family in danger. The car that is stolen, high jacked or any other number of ways a criminal gets access to the vehicle one check of the GPS system tells them where the owner lives.

Just simply typing in home will give them the information they need to plan a break-in, however if it is not stored and must be typed in the car might not be safe but the home and family still are.

Home security companies need to be one step ahead of the person that is going to break-in to a home and this is a good tip fro all GPS users.

What Does The Home Security System Do

Everyone knows that a home security system is there to send a signal as an alert if someone breaks in the home.

When you think about it, this system can do a lot more than just send an alert signal, the ADT sign in the yard will deter some would be burglars who do not want to deal with a home that has security protection. The home break-in artist wants it fast easy and simple as well as quiet.

Having a home security system in many cases also lowers home insurance because to the insurance company the home is less of a risk for break-ins because it is protected.

The statistics on home fires is frightening and there are lives lost, pets lost and everything a family has collected and worked for when the fire department is not alerted fast enough.

These are really good reasons to have a home security system to protect a house and family and there are more good reasons.

Who Should Pay In This Situation?

In the news recently there is a woman in Marietta Georgia who has paid for her ADT home security system for the past five years and had not tested the system in that amount of time.

Recently she decided to test the system, the signal did not work, but that is not the end of the story, except to this woman who feels that ADT should return the past five years of monitoring payments.

Now this is the problem with this thought, the homeowner decided in 2003 to have DSL installed in her home, the technician for the DSL used the existing phone jack to route the DSL signal. This in turn is what disrupted the ADT signal that went unnoticed for five years.

ADT has offered her six months of free monitoring but the homeowner wants five years, is this really fair?

Isn’t it up to the homeowner when they have something installed such as DSL to ensure that their signal for their home security system is still sending the proper signal?

One has to wonder what the DSL company has offered, since it was their technician that disrupted the signal and because it was disrupted where it could not send an alert signal there is the chance that it was sending the proper signal until it needed the phone line to send an alert that the DSL was now using.

Everyone has an opinion and while you should expect the service you pay for a homeowner must also take some responsibility to test their equipment regularly and also after they have had work done in their home that could effect things such as phone lines.

How possibly when this homeowner had the work done and did not test her alarm system expect the home security company to be held responsible, instead of shouldering the responsibility for not testing the service while the installation technician for the DSL there who was using a telephone line.
