Today there are a lot of drivers who depend on GPS systems and recently this was addressed by ADT in a newsletter. This home security company has concerns about the ability to store a home address into the GPS system.
While it might make more sense to store a home address into this system for convince than to have to manually put it in each time, is putting the home and family in danger. The car that is stolen, high jacked or any other number of ways a criminal gets access to the vehicle one check of the GPS system tells them where the owner lives.
Just simply typing in home will give them the information they need to plan a break-in, however if it is not stored and must be typed in the car might not be safe but the home and family still are.
Home security companies need to be one step ahead of the person that is going to break-in to a home and this is a good tip fro all GPS users.

Everyone knows that a home security system is there to send a signal as an alert if someone breaks in the home.
When you think about it, this system can do a lot more than just send an alert signal, the ADT sign in the yard will deter some would be burglars who do not want to deal with a home that has security protection. The home break-in artist wants it fast easy and simple as well as quiet.
Having a home security system in many cases also lowers home insurance because to the insurance company the home is less of a risk for break-ins because it is protected.
The statistics on home fires is frightening and there are lives lost, pets lost and everything a family has collected and worked for when the fire department is not alerted fast enough.
These are really good reasons to have a home security system to protect a house and family and there are more good reasons.

In the news recently there is a woman in Marietta Georgia who has paid for her ADT home security system for the past five years and had not tested the system in that amount of time.
Recently she decided to test the system, the signal did not work, but that is not the end of the story, except to this woman who feels that ADT should return the past five years of monitoring payments.
Now this is the problem with this thought, the homeowner decided in 2003 to have DSL installed in her home, the technician for the DSL used the existing phone jack to route the DSL signal. This in turn is what disrupted the ADT signal that went unnoticed for five years.
ADT has offered her six months of free monitoring but the homeowner wants five years, is this really fair?
Isn’t it up to the homeowner when they have something installed such as DSL to ensure that their signal for their home security system is still sending the proper signal?
One has to wonder what the DSL company has offered, since it was their technician that disrupted the signal and because it was disrupted where it could not send an alert signal there is the chance that it was sending the proper signal until it needed the phone line to send an alert that the DSL was now using.
Everyone has an opinion and while you should expect the service you pay for a homeowner must also take some responsibility to test their equipment regularly and also after they have had work done in their home that could effect things such as phone lines.
How possibly when this homeowner had the work done and did not test her alarm system expect the home security company to be held responsible, instead of shouldering the responsibility for not testing the service while the installation technician for the DSL there who was using a telephone line.

Recently in the news there is one town that has suffered burglaries at many cemeteries has had to ask visitors not to leave flowers and other items, as they cannot guarantee they will remain there.
One of these cemeteries a woman who left plants that she intended to plant the next day were gone.
Most people think that grave robberies are something out of movies or something that happened far in the past but in this town there is more than one cemetery battling thieves. However, that is not the case in this town and in comments from the management of the cemeteries until scrap yards stop accepting these urns and veterans markers there is a way to gain profit from the thefts and it will continue.
Although, it’s not as minor as flowers in some of the cemeteries brass urns, veteran’s markers and other items have been stolen from the grave sites.
One cemetery in the town, the South Side Cemetery located in Franklin Township is gated and they lock their gates and felt this was not enough protection. They have installed and ADT security system, to add to this the also have the Franklin Township Police and deputy sheriffs drive through on a regular basis.
There have been reports recently that an ADT spokesperson has said that ADT has been alerted to and feel they may be isolated incidents.
In certain areas that have been named like Durban, Berea and Morningside some criminals have found a unique way to mark homes and cars for break-ins.
These would be thieves are marking gates, intercoms and other areas of the property such as walls with crayons. The crayons are a color code with one color for home break-ins, another color for vehicle break-ins and other codes.
The colors seem to be blue, red and green for these codes, it has been reported that blue is for auto break-ins, while red is the code to hijack and green is left for home break-ins.
While there might be people that just do not believe this is possible, looking back in history beggars had a similar type of system and while they were not known to travel in a thief ring, they made marks with chalk to alert others who knew their code of certain things like homes that would hand out food.
This is yet another example why home security systems can be very important to your families safety.
In the news is a story about a company in Tennessee that has stooped so low it’s amazing that they still have a license to do business.
This company while they say the allegations are untrue needs a little more than their word to back them up, with 37 complaints to the Better Business Bureau against them.
It seems this companies workers approach homes that are protected by ADT home security and convince the homeowner that ADT is going out of business and they will be taken care of by another company. This is when it gets really sly; they explain they need to change some things in the system as an upgrade. Then they need the homeowner to sign some papers.
Signing these papers cost one woman who suffers from Alzheimer’s $1,700. until her daughter got involved and the local news became involved, then the money was returned but only after a note from the woman’s doctor.
The local prosecutor has looked over the complaints but has still not stepped in and filed charges and the Tennessee Alarm Systems Contractors Board oversees alarm companies, that can take their business license have their hands tied until charges are filed. This means this company is praying on the next victim.
There is a new report out about home security and this report has estimated the home monitoring camera sales to rise to approximately $1 billion dollars by the year 2012.
While this opens the market for camera manufactures it also tells the average person that with crime rates for home invasions and break-ins that home owners are adding to their adt home security systems.
For some time the ADT home security system has worked well with security monitoring cameras and they are not a camera system that is only good for the outside of the house they can also be placed inside the home in spots where they will go unnoticed and they can also tell other stories besides who is trying to break-in to the home. They can help to monitor babysitters and workmen in the home and in that respect the system is protecting the family as much as it would if someone was breaking in the door or window.
