Technology is a great thing it makes advances in many things that make life easier and safer when it comes to home security deals. Some of the best technology advances have been in making it easier to get into the house and to turn the home security system on and off.

There is a key chain attachment that is made by ADT to help when you come in the home with arms filled to turn the home security deal system, this means no false alarms because you did not reach the key pad fast enough. Having an ADT home security deal means that you have the advantage of the latest technology because that is what they focus on, keeping one step a head of burglars to keep homes and families safe.

There is also other technology that is helping keep families safe, the keyless lock, this can be programmed to let people that are not in the family in the home when they need to be and also be taken out of the programming to prevent their entering the house when they are no longer supposed to be in the home. This is perfect for repairmen and babysitters that you do not want to give a key to along with anyone visiting, there is no need to have keys made, just program them in.

Where Not To Put Your Address

Today there are a lot of drivers who depend on GPS systems and recently this was addressed by ADT in a newsletter. This home security company has concerns about the ability to store a home address into the GPS system.

While it might make more sense to store a home address into this system for convince than to have to manually put it in each time, is putting the home and family in danger. The car that is stolen, high jacked or any other number of ways a criminal gets access to the vehicle one check of the GPS system tells them where the owner lives.

Just simply typing in home will give them the information they need to plan a break-in, however if it is not stored and must be typed in the car might not be safe but the home and family still are.

Home security companies need to be one step ahead of the person that is going to break-in to a home and this is a good tip fro all GPS users.

What Does The Home Security System Do

Everyone knows that a home security system is there to send a signal as an alert if someone breaks in the home.

When you think about it, this system can do a lot more than just send an alert signal, the ADT sign in the yard will deter some would be burglars who do not want to deal with a home that has security protection. The home break-in artist wants it fast easy and simple as well as quiet.

Having a home security system in many cases also lowers home insurance because to the insurance company the home is less of a risk for break-ins because it is protected.

The statistics on home fires is frightening and there are lives lost, pets lost and everything a family has collected and worked for when the fire department is not alerted fast enough.

These are really good reasons to have a home security system to protect a house and family and there are more good reasons.

Recently in the news there is one town that has suffered burglaries at many cemeteries has had to ask visitors not to leave flowers and other items, as they cannot guarantee they will remain there.

One of these cemeteries a woman who left plants that she intended to plant the next day were gone.

Most people think that grave robberies are something out of movies or something that happened far in the past but in this town there is more than one cemetery battling thieves. However, that is not the case in this town and in comments from the management of the cemeteries until scrap yards stop accepting these urns and veterans markers there is a way to gain profit from the thefts and it will continue.

Although, it’s not as minor as flowers in some of the cemeteries brass urns, veteran’s markers and other items have been stolen from the grave sites.

One cemetery in the town, the South Side Cemetery located in Franklin Township is gated and they lock their gates and felt this was not enough protection. They have installed and ADT security system, to add to this the also have the Franklin Township Police and deputy sheriffs drive through on a regular basis.

Protecting The Vacation Home

It is the time of year when getting away from home and the drudge of daily life is what everyone is thinking about and some people take it one step further and invest in a vacation home.

They do this so they can get away any weekend, holiday or vacation time and while this is the ultimate get away it is also a home and a home that will spend a lot of time empty.

Since this is a home that will be empty much of the time it needs to be protected because to some people there is nothing more enticing than an empty house that they are certain that no one is coming home to it any time soon.

That makes the vacation home a candidate for a home security system and it can also be a way of protecting it from other things like smoke, fire and also water leaks.

Just as you would protect your year round home the vacation home needs the same protection even if it is in a remote area, that makes it all the more enticing for some people, because it is an empty house.

Strange Happenings In Home Security News

There have been reports recently that an ADT spokesperson has said that ADT has been alerted to and feel they may be isolated incidents.

In certain areas that have been named like Durban, Berea and Morningside some criminals have found a unique way to mark homes and cars for break-ins.

These would be thieves are marking gates, intercoms and other areas of the property such as walls with crayons. The crayons are a color code with one color for home break-ins, another color for vehicle break-ins and other codes.

The colors seem to be blue, red and green for these codes, it has been reported that blue is for auto break-ins, while red is the code to hijack and green is left for home break-ins.

While there might be people that just do not believe this is possible, looking back in history beggars had a similar type of system and while they were not known to travel in a thief ring, they made marks with chalk to alert others who knew their code of certain things like homes that would hand out food.

This is yet another example why home security systems can be very important to your families safety.

In the news is a story about a company in Tennessee that has stooped so low it’s amazing that they still have a license to do business.

This company while they say the allegations are untrue needs a little more than their word to back them up, with 37 complaints to the Better Business Bureau against them.

It seems this companies workers approach homes that are protected by ADT home security and convince the homeowner that ADT is going out of business and they will be taken care of by another company. This is when it gets really sly; they explain they need to change some things in the system as an upgrade. Then they need the homeowner to sign some papers.

Signing these papers cost one woman who suffers from Alzheimer’s $1,700. until her daughter got involved and the local news became involved, then the money was returned but only after a note from the woman’s doctor.

The local prosecutor has looked over the complaints but has still not stepped in and filed charges and the Tennessee Alarm Systems Contractors Board oversees alarm companies, that can take their business license have their hands tied until charges are filed. This means this company is praying on the next victim.

There is a new report out about home security and this report has estimated the home monitoring camera sales to rise to approximately $1 billion dollars by the year 2012.

While this opens the market for camera manufactures it also tells the average person that with crime rates for home invasions and break-ins that home owners are adding to their adt home security systems.

For some time the ADT home security system has worked well with security monitoring cameras and they are not a camera system that is only good for the outside of the house they can also be placed inside the home in spots where they will go unnoticed and they can also tell other stories besides who is trying to break-in to the home. They can help to monitor babysitters and workmen in the home and in that respect the system is protecting the family as much as it would if someone was breaking in the door or window.

Is There A Difference Between ADT And The Local Company

When it comes to monitoring your home security you know that ADT offers this but then there is also advertisements for local companies that can do it cheaper. But, you need to ask it is a real deal or not and many times it is not and there are several reasons for this, one of them is because they may not be up to the standards that larger monitoring companies must be.

Then there is the reason that they cost less, what kind of setup do they have and when the power and phone lines are out what good can they do if they are local? There lines will also be out so there is no one monitoring your home in that event.

Besides what kind of a setup do they have, if they are charging a cheaper price and they are smaller do they have all the emergency backup equipment to monitor your house, it’s doubtful.

These are just some of the reasons you need to check out the cheaper guy before you decide they are for you when ADT has all the latest and most sophisticated equipment to monitor your house, they have more than a few monitoring centers and their employees are all professionally trained.

So, is it really a trade off or not?

Today there is one restaurant whose owner and employees are glad that the place was protected by ADT, in what would have been a robbery yesterday complete with guns was averted.

The attempted robbery took place when two men came into the restaurant and ordered a chicken and mushroom pizza, the men never got the pizza even though they paid for it and this is because their attempted robbery went a rye when alerted the manager with the way they were dressed in bulky coats and low pulled baseball caps. They asked to be seated near the kitchen which also would give them a clear view of the entrance and this along with their dress made the manager concerned.

Soon after the manager who had been held at gun point during another robbery pressed the ADT panic button and went to talk to the security guard who was outside and when the manger was returning inside the restaurant he observed two other men with machine guns.

This is approximately the time that an ADT reaction officer was approaching in answer to the panic button and walked past a white Toyota with a person in the drivers seat. When this ADT officer got to the entrance of the restaurant the men robbing the place noticed him and opened fire on Officer Jack Makgahlela.

While he ran for cover some of the men robbing the restaurant took off in the white Toyota, in this shootout no one was injured but according to some reports there were two rounds of eight shots fired. According to the restaurant manager the response time was under five minutes from the time he had pushed the panic button until Makgahlela came through the door.
